Why does my PCOS look different to hers?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) affects a whopping 1 in 8 women. It’s like a secret club and its mascot is a big question mark – ‘cysts’ aren’t even a symptom! It’s no wonder then that those diagnosed with the condition - and even those doing the diagnosing – are often left scratching their head when it comes to treatment and testing. But have no fear! Dedicated endocrinologist and research fellow Dr Jillian Tay from Monash University is here to break it all down for us. Chatting to host Dr Sneha Wadhwani, she answers questions like, ‘will I ever be able to have children?’ and ‘will I ever be able to lose weight?’ as well as what PCOS is and why your symptoms might look different to someone else’s. And if you suspect you have the condition but aren’t quite sure, Dr Tay and Dr Wadhwani have you covered, discussing testing requirements and even how to bring up the conversation with your trusted health professional.

Besides some itches here, some pustules there and maybe a little discharge, how much damage can STI’s really cause? STI’s are highly treatable, and Dr Ros and host Dr Sneha Wadhwani break it all down for you; from how STI’s run a muck in the immune system, navigating awkward conversations, and what treatments are available when a love bug is causing havoc.

Is the BMI bullshit?

The BMI has come under some serious scrutiny in the past couple of years, and maybe it’s for good reason according to practicing Dietician Geraldine Georgiou. Funnily enough, there’s a lot more to you than just body fat, and if it’s body-fat your concerned about, cutting out carbs completely (or really any other whole food group) might not be the answer. Alongside host Dr Sneha Wadhwani, they get to the bottom of what ‘health’ really means, and how your diet can help you achieve your health goals. Particularly for those with health conditions like PCOS or Diabetes. And if tracking your macros has become your top priority, Geraldine has some insight on why you might want to expand your scope.
