But what you may not know is that Diane and her husband Juan also make thousands of fruit cakes every year that are enjoyed by cake lovers across Australia and beyond. Leeton-born Jake Speer has success as an actor, writer, producer and director. He spent six years as a regular on Australian soapie Home and Away, but his current passion is a local story. Speer wrote and acted in the upcoming film Lords of the Soil, which tells the story of a young settler and his connection with an Indigenous family living on his newly acquired parcel of land in 1866.

Matt Cecchin has led an extraordinary life. From humble beginnings, he has worked his way up through the ranks of the NRL over a twenty-year career – not as a player, but as a referee. In 2012, he became only the second NRL player or official to come out as gay; he has been instrumental in the ongoing work of destigmatising mental illness in the game, and now, on the eve of his new role with the NRL as a mental health welfare leader for referees and officials, he talks about where his journey’s up to; how he got here; and where he’s going next.

Chairperson Robert Capello and General Manager Roy Catanzariti reveal the extensive work GPSO do for close to 200 families in the RIverina. Robert shares the one reason why he got involved in the group, his daughter Kara.
