Take Time To Fall Back In Love With Your Creative Work- Short Rambles

As creatives, we are known for our constant hard work to achieve what we want from our creative career. But sometimes the stress and consistent "hustling" means we lose sight of why we even started pursuing this career in the first place. I think it's important to take a step back from your work and take the time to fall back in love with your craft; to find the joy in your classes, projects and weekly tasks rather than viewing them as steps you NEED to take in order to move forward.  Email: [email protected] Insta: @rachel.lauren.bakerSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Fear Of Losing Your Creative Identity While Exploring Other Paths- Short Rambles

A common fear that I often feel is that if I pursue other career opportunities, I will lose my identity as an actor. The reason I sometimes feel this way is that a few years ago I started dipping my toe into the world of producing. I enjoyed producing projects, I enjoyed producing my own work so that I could also act in it. What ended up happening is that people started to approach me for producing jobs but rarely acting work. I felt like I was becoming known as a producer and that everyone was forgetting that acting is what I truly wanted to do. So I stopped producing. This fear is incredibly limiting because it shut me off to a world of opportunities that could have led me to my purpose. I have seen it in other creatives, the hesitation to pursue other creative projects because they feel it might interfere with their identity as an actor or director or writer etc. This episode is here to tell you why this fear is unhelpful and to show you that when I let go of it, I started to rapidly move forward in every area of my career. Making Time For Life Whilst Pursuing A Creative Career- Short Rambles

This is something I struggle with often. I find myself feeling guilty if I go through a period of time without having done something towards my career in the industry. Whether that be recording a podcast episode or filming a scene or taking an acting class. I feel like if I'm not taking steps towards my goals all the time then my success might vanish. But the reality is that we have to find time to live our life and do the things that life requires in order to be able to move forward. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
