Fertility is harder to treat today than it was 20 years ago - at least in the opinion of fertility expert and TCM Doctor Marc Sklar. But often we take on somebody else’s opinion of our health, especially as a women and take it as truth, when in actual fact - it really is somebody’s best opinion and maybe they’re wrong. In this episode we chat about how this idea is appropriate to fertility and miscarriage to help you unpack the ins and outs around our reproductive health as well as tools you can add to support your own health and fertility. This episode discusses: Why fertility is more difficult today than ever even with modern technology and medicine How we hide our fertility status and miscarriage and it is a disservice to the persons experiencing loss Why miscarriages happen - are they more than just a freak incident How medicine relies heavily on miscarriage being an accident How many variables contribute to miscarriage including autoimmune issues, blood clotting factors, thyroid and the uterine environment Why 99% of fertility clinics fail to look at these variables How to improve IVF/conception outcomes Why Marc believes that 80% of couples go through assisted conception prematurely Why addressing the ‘root cause’ is so often the missing piece of the puzzle Why stress matters contrary to what you may have been told How you can have some comfort and less stress after miscarriage What variables you can create after miscarriage for peace of mind to proceed into your next pregnancy The foundational things that matter to Marc that you can look into today Connect with Marc via his website - www.marcsklar.com, also on instagram @the_fertility_expert

Dad life in modern times may leave many parents feeling overwhelmed as traditional parent roles have changed and we are left trying to navigate these in a way we’ve never known. n this episode we chat with mentor Luke McLean about how we can better support the father figure in your household. Luke shares: Why the traditional role of ’the dad’ is still as important as ever How children mimic what they see and how the behaviours of parents are reflected in our children How less contact with parents is the reality due to the nature of working parents and what we can do to cultivate connection regardless Why planning times of connection is key How we can be aware of the ‘3 Ds’ (Distracted, Disconnected and Discontentment) to be more reflective and more present as a parent Why rituals are so important to help us connect How to have conversations with our partners that spark curiosity and solutions What the biggest blocks may be for men and how we can support men to ask for help early and be less explosive in times of stress and overwhelm How we can change generational behaviours Setting up your evening before you walk into the door to create connection and calm Awareness of how parents talk to each other and the roles they play Connect with Luke McLean @Luke_mclean_life and via his website https://lukemclean.net

Just a heads up that this episode briefly discusses suicide and childhood abuse. If you're struggling you can always call Lifeline on 13 11 14. On a random Wednesday 22 years ago, Dr Dain Heer gave up all hope. He surrendered and gave himself an expiration date - if something didn't rapidly change in 6 months, he was going to end his life. After living with years of abuse as a child, Dain always knew there was a different possibility, he just hadn't quite figured out how to access it. In this episode Dain shares his own experience in turning his life around in a remarkable and inspiring way - something we can all tap into. He shares tools we can implement right now to change our own trajectory. Dain dives deep into; Why you actually can't (and shouldn't) fake it until you make it and how this is literally lying to yourself - because subconsciously you know it not to be true What is access consciousness - the tool that turned his life around in 1 hour and 15 minutes Why people are always greater than they think they are How to find the true you What exactly happened in that 1 hour 15min session How to embrace and not resist the down times Why comparison is a trap and leaves us in a perpetual state of judgement How we can parent our children in a way that is without judgment to allow our children to grow and thrive By treating our children as aware beings they can choose what they want and how to create their own lives How we can begin to love ourselves right now Two tools Dain shares: How to change your vibe: Since we pick up 98% of our thoughts from other people, we must ask ourselves "who does this (thought) belong to?" and return to sender. How to change upset feelings: Take it as "an interesting point of view - I have this point of view." This helps us take a step back and avoid the avoidance. You can listen to Dain explain it in detail in the last 5 minutes of the episode. Connect with Dain: www.beingyouday.com (May 22) www.beingyoubook.com Instagram: @dainheer
