What is Empathy and How to Be a More Empathetic Person

Often our lives can be seen as truly meaningful in the context of the collective and in serving others and being empathetic is a way of serving others. It's about tuning in and holding space for another person and making them feel heard and seen. And that's a beautiful gift to give to somebody else. We talk about connection a lot here in our community, and it really starts with self connection. This is what our Four Cornerstones are about. We start to connect and then we also start to understand what our body needs beyond food, how to move, how to elevate our sleep, our rest and self-care. The purpose of the Four Cornerstones is really about establishing this deeper connection with yourself. This, in turn, creates optimal wellness, optimal health, energy, beauty in the true sense of beauty and true radiance that pours out of you from the inside out. Once we work on connecting with ourselves the next step is to explore how we connect more deeply with other people and relationships around us. When we start to put some focus on creating stronger connections and holding space for other people, we find that it goes both ways. We start to connect more with ourselves and with others and we feel what I would define as true success, which is being connected to your true self and your heart and living from that place.

3 Ways to Move Past Fear and Listen to Your Intuition

This topic was directly inspired by our Solluna Circle Zoom that we had last week, which our theme this month is developing intuition. And if you're not familiar with our Solluna Circle, it's our tribal community program. You are welcome and invited to join us. It's over on our Solluna app. We had a question from someone in the group, talk about intuition and how she has ideas about things she wants to do in her life and ways to move forward, however, it's fear that stops her. And I thought about this idea of fear and about fear in my own life. I thought about how it plays out in the world, around us and what I've seen in clients. It's something that I really want to talk about today from a really personal place, because fear is something that can pretty much destroy our lives if we give into it. Fear is something that stops us from going for what we really want to create. Fear creates stagnation. Fear keeps us from tuning into our deepest wisdom, our deepest intuition, our deepest desires and loves. And it's such a destructive force when it just clouds our lives and we don't have tools and practices to get past the fear. I’m really excited to get into this topic and share ways to move past this fear and start listening to your intuition.

"Day" and "Night" Routines - Even if You Never Leave the House!

Today's show is all about "Day" and "Night" Routines - Even if You Never Leave the House! I'm a huge believer in regular and consistent practices. Even though they may seem very small, these simple steps are the way to great change. They are the way to keep building and shifting our energy. I truly believe it is better to do smaller steps and to carry them long-term rather than to bounce around, trying different things, and inevitably not really doing anything with regularity. I think that it's especially important when we've been quarantined and want to create a sense of stability in our bodies because rhythm is something that will set that up for us. We see this in nature, the rhythms of the day, light, into daytime, into dusk, into nighttime, and there's this steadiness that comes when we establish rhythms. Ayurveda teaches that Dinacharya daily practices, daily rhythms really do help to establish a healthy digestive system, a healthy sleep schedule for yourself, a healthy nervous system, healthy endocrine system, and so much in between. I'm looking forward to hearing your questions from the community and sharing tips on routines you can start today.

How to Change Your Relationship with Food

Food is one of our Solluna cornerstones. It’s a big topic for all of us because day to day, we're eating, we're putting substances and matter into our body. We can hold it, we can pick it up, we can smell it, it's tangible. It's always going to be a big part of our lives.  My wellness journey certainly did start with food, as I think it does for a lot of us for those very reasons. Because we have to eat, and because we see it, smell it, and taste it. What we're going to talk about today is getting down to more fundamentals with our overall relationship to food.  We can talk about vitamins and omega fats, and all of that is key and important. However, we also want to take a step back and really start to evaluate our relationship with food. If it's unhealthy, if it's controlling you, if it's taking up too much of your life, then it is time to make a shift.  What we need to remember is that it shouldn't be a source of excess stress and struggle, which is unfortunately what I see a lot today. And it's something that I experienced personally. We're going to get into all of those different topics today and I’ll be sharing some tips and tools that have helped me personally.

Understanding Shame and Getting Your Life Back

There isn't one of us listening to this that hasn't felt shame. It's a very heavy energy, and we want to lighten it and release it because it's such a damper on our light, on the love and the truth that we really are. We do not have to carry shame. We've been getting a lot of questions around this, which I think means that we're all starting to really take a deep dive and introspect and go deeper, which is amazing. And I have been doing the same thing. I’ve been actually processing shame that's coming up for me, and I didn't even know I was carrying it over the past year or so. On the positive side, there's a lot of healing that's coming out of this quarantine. There’s a lot of introspection, a lot of a deep dive that some of us are taking, that's been prompted by just being home, having more closeness with loved ones, and yet more quiet in some ways. It’s been a tremendous opportunity to go deeper. The word shame can bring up a lot of feelings for a lot of us, but it's such a wonderful thing to take a deep breath and go and explore, because on the other side of shame is tremendous lightness, growth, and freedom.

Stay Your Healthiest in Winter

Beauty, now is the time of year to get warm and cozy, and break out your favorite sweaters and scarves. But it’s also the time when you’re probably more cautious about getting sick, as cold and flu season hits (not to mention the global pandemic we’re experiencing, too)! Today’s podcast is all about staying your very healthiest this winter. I firmly believe that our internal state of health is the reason some of us get sick and some of us don’t. For instance, eating a proper diet for the season, consistently getting enough sleep, and nurturing our mental health are all ways we can help to fortify our internal immunity and combat sickness. We can’t control the outside environment, but we can, to a large extent, control our inner ecosystem and balance. I have a lot of good tips for you in this episode, Beauty, so you won’t want to miss out!

How to Start Your Kids on a Healthy Wellness Routine

How to start your kids on a healthy wellness routine is an interesting topic. It’s a potentially tricky topic for many of us, because we may be into wellness, nourishment, picking the best ingredients, but our little ones are in a completely different mind space. They're so present with what's in front of them from the colors, the characters and the flavors, that trying to convince them that kale is what they should fill their belly with instead of a cookie, may be a little bit tricky for them to understand. My oldest son, Bubby now is four and a half, and we're definitely starting to go through some of this. He tantrums a bit now and he stamps his feet, and he's had a taste of vegan cookies and he likes them, and he's starting to try to be independent. I definitely have some tips to share with you that have worked for our family, and some things that I have utilized with clients in the past that also have kids and are looking to transition as they have transitioned their lifestyle as well. Be sure to tune!

Digging into Why We Connect and Disconnect

The Cornerstones have been such a great framework for us to really create a system for evaluating our energy, our self-care, how well we're connecting with ourselves, food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. And, the emotional wellbeing category, the cornerstone here is where I put relationships. Everything is interrelated and the spiritual growth part of us is also part of relationships, because the more we connect in with our essence, the more we connect out with others. However, I think when we're talking about communication and really creating healthy boundaries, healthy relationships and some of the tricky parts of human relations, it has to do with the emotions that we haven't processed. Our wounds, our triggers and stress. A lot of it, I would say falls into that category. And this is the cornerstone I think that a lot of us often could use some more work in diving in. So I'm very, very excited to hear this.

How to Renew and Strengthen Relationships

We've been getting so many different questions about relationships, which makes total sense, because this is such an interesting time where we have been forced to introspect, to go deep and to look at our lives. This includes looking at our relationships and this starts with our relationship with ourselves. Today we're going to talk about that as well, because it affects all of our other relationships. We are also going to talk about other relationships as well because relationships shape our lives. And right now, because of the global situation, we may be in close proximity with our loved ones. Maybe we don't have the quality time, maybe we’re not really connecting, or maybe there's been a distance between us and loved ones that are far away. How do we best communicate in those instances? All around relationships are super important and can have an enormous impact on our lives and I look forward to sharing tips that I use personally.

Tips for Healthy Communication to Reduce Stress

Stress is the precursor to inflammation, illness, sickness, to accelerated aging, squashing our energy and depleting our vitality. It's something that we want to reduce in our lives. The next part is that we love many of our relationships. Of course, we don't want to live without our loved ones, our family, friends, and beyond that, we have to interact with many other people, our colleagues, acquaintances, all sorts of people. And relationships, the ones that we choose, and maybe some of the ones that we don't choose, like our in-laws are still part of our lives and can be an enormous source of stress. Or we can shift the way that we deal with these relationships and ground ourselves, ground our health and these relationships can be primarily a source of enjoyment in our lives. The thing about relationships is that we all come with triggers and wounds and reactions and experiences from the past and sensitivities. Relationships can again be a little bit tricky, and today we're going to go through some tips and strategies for really fortifying your own energy and health, so that you can navigate this whole galaxy of relationships and maintain your highest health and wellbeing and enjoy yourself and enjoy life.

Creating a Spiritual Practice for the New Year

With the new year in sight, we tend to shift our focus on resolutions that will improve our physical health or our habits. If you’re focused on growing and improving your life, I also encourage you to think about your spiritual growth. The start of the new year is the perfect opportunity to begin or boost your spiritual practice! Unlike goals related to our other Cornerstones of True Beauty, like Food or Body, the goal of building a spiritual practice is a little different, as it’s harder to outline in concrete steps. For many, spirituality might seem harder to access or out of reach. That’s why I’m dedicating this podcast episode to creating a spiritual practice for the new year, and giving you specific tools and tips for getting started. Cultivating your spiritual practice will allow you to increase your intuition and self-awareness, experience more unity and oneness, and feel more expansive love. What better way to step into 2021? Let’s dive in!

Mental Health Practices to Start Today

Our cornerstones here at Solluna are food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. And it's very easy, very obvious for a lot of us to focus on food, because of course we're putting it into our bodies. We can see it, we smell it, it's physical in one sense, as everything really is vibrating and moving in another sense. It's easy to focus on food, but if we don't take this balanced approach and really work on all of the cornerstones, then we never get the best results. Something that I've seen time and time again over the years is how when we shift our mental health, when we start to have a different perspective and we expand and we open up and we are able to deal with stress better. We let go of rigidity and become more open and forgiving. We become more grateful and we embrace community. All these different aspects of mental health, we tend to have an easier time maintaining our weight. We have a much easier time getting rid of food cravings and being motivated to exercise, go in the sunlight, smile more and to be happier. In turn, this has a real effect on our hormones, our nervous system, our endocrine system and so many different parts of our body, and our being in general. We want to set time aside for mental health and emotional wellbeing, and this could take on many different forms as we'll get into our questions today.

In turn, this has a real effect on our hormones, our nervous system, our endocrine system and so many different parts of our body, and our being in general. We want to set time aside for mental health and emotional wellbeing, and this could take on many different forms as we'll get into our questions today.

What is Happiness and is it Achievable?

A lot of us wonder about happiness. I think it's something that's become a big discussion point for the past few years. There have been different documentaries, research studies and books about happiness. It shows that as time goes on, we start to go deeper and deeper into ourselves. We start to really question what life is about and realize that it's about our day to day experience and how we feel. It's not just about our side measurements, like how much money we have or how big our retirement account is or how many followers we have or just material things. It really has to do with our inner state. I've realized how precious the peace and the joy that comes from within is, and really, how few people actually have it. It's something that we can all tap into and we can create. For me, it's been the journey of taking a holistic approach with our Four Cornerstone approach with food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. If we just try to approach it from one aspect, then we don't really get the best results. Happiness is something that I think is our birthright. I think our natural state is to be alive, to be joyful and to feel free. This is an important topic and this is something that we can all work towards.

Finding Your Passion and Living a Fulfilled Life

This is such an amazing topic to go into the New Year with. As we all know, 2020 was, in many ways, a year of introspection and evaluation. We were forced into quarantine and isolation. We were forced to really look at our lives and re-evaluate. Now that we've created that space to think about what we want to fill back in, what we want our lives to be, what we want to create and what we want to feel like in this upcoming year, we have so much choice. We have so much power. If any benefit came from 2020, it showed us how things don't necessarily have to be the way that we think that they have to be. Things can radically change, and we have the power to radically change our lives and to create something that feels amazing to each and every single one of us.

Setting Your Intentions for the New Year!

Happy early New Year. I am so excited for our upcoming year together as a community and to be able to keep growing and sharing with one another. We have so many amazing announcements upcoming for you guys from Solluna. I hope that you’ve had a restful period between Christmas and New Years. Hopefully this year is a little bit of an inward time where we start to reflect and think about what we want to cultivate and create in the upcoming year and what we want to let go of. For many of us, 2020 was a year of deep introspection, shifting, confusion sometimes about what's going on in the world. Unfortunately, I say with compassion, for some of us deep pain and suffering on different levels, including physically and mentally. I think this year is going to be a wonderful shift for all of us. And today I’ll be sharing tips on how we can step with our best foot forward in this new year.

Ways to Center Yourself and Limit Stress

When we think of centering ourselves to me, it's about finding our authenticity, our connection to ourselves, our voice, our grounding and our own energy centers. It means that we stop overvaluing the outside world and over-seeking validation. We stop getting so thrown off by other people's opinions and their ideas. The next part of our topic is stress and there's so many events, constant, tumultuous changes and the ups and downs of life. Everything can feel stressful if we let it. Stress is really about our perspective of things, and it's not about the actual events. We just stay very rooted and very connected, and it's a very powerful and very peaceful way to live life. This is a topic that's close to my heart, and I'm really excited to share more what's worked for me and how I'm able to become more centered in my life with you.

Tips to Avoid Gaining Weight this Holiday Season

This topic comes up pretty much every year, however, this year is a very different year because of the pandemic. In the past, our tips around not gaining weight have to do with how we best navigate parties, get togethers, and the food and alcohol that we're exposed to at these events that we may not usually be as exposed to. This year, due to being in some sort of lock down or quasi-lock down situation, the weight gain has more to do with stress eating, boredom or just having more access to all these other foods because we're home a lot more. The tips and the topics are going to shift a little bit, depending on where you live and who's in your close inner circle where there may be some sort of get together. I’ll be sharing tips that will really highlight both situations and something you can take in as we go into 2021. And hopefully things start to open up and we have more access to our villages as it becomes more safe to do so.

Why Incorporating the Four Cornerstones is Critical to Your Wellbeing

When I started my personal journey I was very focused on food, which we know is very important. We pick it up, we smell it, we eat it, we touch it. We need to eat every day. Food becomes a major cornerstone of our energy. Food becomes the building blocks of our own cellular health and integrity, but food will only take us so far. This whole philosophy was created out of my own experience and working with clients and readers. Really seeing that if we want to have our highest levels of health, energy, vitality, beauty and power, we need to look at ourselves and take care of ourselves in a holistic way. When you look at the roots of holistic, we're talking about being whole, and we are whole beings. We aren't just physical beings. We have an emotional body, as well as a physical body. We have a spiritual and mental body and everything affects everything else. Our Four Cornerstones are food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. And it is essential that we take care of ourselves in all of these areas. If we neglect one or two, we hyper fixate or obsess over one or the others. These are the things that we need to talk about as a community. I want nothing more than for you to feel your very best and everything that I know from the depths of my heart and my soul is that we need to live this holistic lifestyle and really give it the attention it deserves.

Boosting Your Mindset During Difficult Times

As we roll into the holiday season, this is an important topic because things simply are not going to be the same as other years. If we compare this year to other years, we may feel like we're missing out. We may feel sad or disappointed and this sets us up to suffer more. Rather, we can look at them in a different way and we can start to make a shift, whether that's having a little bit more extra quiet time to yourself, reflection time, or time to evaluate and peel away layers. Mindset is so powerful. There's more and more research correlating our perspective which is really the cause of stress. It's not events, but it's our way of looking at the events. Stress levels and hormonal imbalance compromise our own immunity and disruption to our digestive system and our endocrine system. There's so many things that actually stem from our mindset and perspective. This is why our third cornerstone at Solluna is emotional wellbeing and mental health. It's a huge part of wellness. Remember, it's not the event itself that causes stress and issues to our health and wellbeing, it's the way that we look at it. I know it's not always easy to make a shift to your perspective. However, I promise you that with focus and with tools and techniques and dialing in your practice, it is possible. This is a really beautiful time to focus on this topic as it is getting into the darker days and I'm really excited to hear your questions about boosting your mindset during these difficult challenging times.

Creating Abundance and Gratitude In Everyday Life

I love this topic because I'm someone that has ventured out on my own so to speak. I had this big around the world backpacking trip, which lasted over three years. And I came back with very, very little money. I was very broke, and I really had to create my life from the ground up. I know what it's like to feel down on your luck. I literally know what it's like to barely be able to pay the rent. And I know what it's like to go into Whole Foods and not be able to get all the organic food that I would like to have gotten back then, because I simply couldn't afford it. I also know what it's like to turn it around and to create your outer world from your inner world. Today I'm really excited to share some of the tips and concepts that have really worked for me over the years around abundance and gratitude.

Dealing with Holiday Dread

I love this topic because it's so real and authentic. It's when we don't sugar coat things. Yes, the holidays can be about vegan Christmas cookies, presents,  trees and lights and all of these beautiful aspects. However, there is another aspect of the holidays, which of course is stress, including financial stress if you have a huge amount of people that you typically get presents for. There is rushing around, there's drama within families and all sorts of things. We don't want to pretend that they're not there. Of course we want to embrace it, which is really this whole concept of wholeness. It's not all just about the shiny pretty stuff, but also about the shadow side and the parts that throw up a lot of triggers and feelings for us. To really equip ourselves with tools and techniques so that we are able to move through the holidays as gracefully and as lightly as possible, and feel our best. In contrast, I find when we pretend that things aren't stressful or that things are just so when they're not, we abandon and shut down part of ourselves. We don't acknowledge parts of ourselves. And of course our wholeness is part of our power. It's our ability to look at everything and to deal with it that continues to make us stronger and stronger.

Strengthening Your Body for Flu Season

It sort of feels, in a way, that we've been in a quasi flu season state for more than half a year already with COVID going on. And now that we're getting into the windier months and more deeply into fall and then winter, we also have the regular flu. For all these different reasons, we want to make sure that we are fortifying ourselves as much as possible. We want to make sure that we're strengthening ourselves and taking advantage of all the ways that we can enhance our lifestyles. This includes keeping ourselves and our families as safe and as healthy as possible. Today we're going to get into ways we can strengthen our bodies for flu season and beyond!

Tips for Handling Anxiety Throughout the Day

Throughout the day is a big part I want to emphasize because if we don't take care of ourselves in real-time, then we really can have a lot of health issues. Everything from feeling depleted, to our energy and vitality going down, accelerated aging, more inflammation, and many different things.  I think the mentality for a lot of us is to keep working, keep going, keep pushing and when something becomes unbearable, then we have to deal with it. When our back aches so much we can't walk, then we deal with it. What we want to do is we want to start paying attention to anxiety levels now and prevent all these major issues coming down the road. We don't want to get depleted or wear down our bodies. Anxiety disorders are affecting millions of adults in the United States alone which shows a really rampant issue that we really need to talk about and address as a community.

Self-Love Practices

I know we could all use more self-love practices because of this interesting time that we are in right now. The fact that some of our prior self-care, self-love practices like getting facials, massages, pedicures or manicures - we just haven't really been getting for many months now. It's really important that we check in and we talk about practices that you can do right now, today in your home. In that really warm, cozy environment you can really nourish yourself on many different levels. As we say in our Four Cornerstones, on a dietary food level, a physical body level, an emotional and mental level, and the spiritual level, these are the deepest core of us, our essence inside of us.

How to Create Your Own Vision with GT Dave

Wondering where to begin when trying to create your own vision or goals in life? I have a very, very special guest for you today. His name is GT's Kombucha, and you may very well recognize his name from the Synergy Kombucha bottles that you have been perhaps drinking for years and years. I know that I have seen his name before and wondered, who is this guy? And the interview today, I have to say, is pretty spectacular. GT Dave pretty much started the whole kombucha category. And he has an incredible story based on finding this special elixir, this modality to help his mom with her cancer when he was only 15 years old. He's an incredible person and incredible entrepreneur and has an incredible vision. I learned so much from this interview and I cannot wait to get into it today!

Leaning into Discomfort

This is a wonderful topic especially in the West, because I think that we are taught to run away from pain, to shift, to numb, to distract, to find a way around it. And in Eastern philosophy there's a lot of emphasis on being okay with sitting in suffering and discomfort and not always having our likes catered to. We can actually see that in much more extreme spiritual practices where monks may meditate in freezing cold rivers overnight and be in the hot desert with all the flies around them. You see and read about certain things like that, where we're able to transcend discomfort. It becomes another experience and we don't label it as good, bad, and all the different parts of our lives which we often put labels on. Versus letting everything be as it is and letting ourselves experience the full range of feelings and emotions. And when we do that, we step into our power because our power is wholeness and completeness. It includes the shadow sides, which are in discomfort comes growth afterwards, and pain often brings some sort of evolvement. It's not that we seek it out or we're trying to hurt ourselves. It's that we flow with life, and when things show up, we meet them. We meet them where they are and where we are, and we go through, we don't try to distract.

Positive Energy Crystals - What to Wear for Optimal Positivity

I personally got into crystals a couple years ago. I just think they're beautiful, and I love their presence in my home, and I love wearing them. And along the way, I started to wonder more and more about if they really do anything, if they really work, besides actually being quite beautiful.  I'm going to get into that today and talk about some background material, even some research, before we dive into some specific crystals that I think you'll find really interesting.

Wellness and Your Work Environment

We all spend so much time in our work, with our career, whether we are working at home or we're going to an office. Our work environment, the company culture, is something that very much affects us and it's a big part of our lives. It's something that we want to address and make sure that we are doing our part to maintain the healthiest, best possible workspace. That being said, of course we can't control everything in the environment and we know that, but what we can do is control our inner world, our reactions, our responses, and also apply some practical tools about how to create the best possible work environment. As always, we will address this from our cornerstone perspective, being, food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth.

Practices for Finding More Joy Now

There's so much going on in the world and to me joy is deeper than happiness. It is more sustained and sustainable when we start to open up to it and anchor to it.  It's something that isn't dependent on outside sources so much as happiness, which can I think be a bit more fleeting.  I'm excited to get into our topic today and share some of my personal practices in building that joy in my life.

Energizing Practices to Reduce Blocks

Blocks are something that can occur in many different areas of our lives. We know that we can have blockages in our bodies, in our GI tracks and our digestion. We can feel blocked mentally and emotionally. There is also feeling blocked spiritually from being able to connect with ourselves where our energy can feel blocked. As we go into fall and there's this shift in energy, and it's starting to get windier and colder, it's very important that we focus on removing blocks because we want our energy to flow and we want to feel in flow.

How to Get Your Life Back Amid Coronavirus

None of us expected this to go on this long and into the foreseeable future it is quite one thing if this was going on for a couple of weeks or even a month or two. However, because it continues to go on for months and months, we don't want to feel like our whole life is on hold. That we're not moving forward or we're just in a stagnant place, which of course doesn't feel good to any of us. Today we're going to talk about some practices and tips for really tapping in and feeling how life can still feel expansive and beautiful, even amidst this virus.

Finding True Love

Love and sharing life and relationships is something that a lot of us naturally want to have. We are social beings that love to share our lives, share the ups and downs, feel a closeness, long for intimacy and love, and have that love light us up inside. There are some of us that are cool being on our own, and I totally respect that. However, I think for a lot of us, having a deeply fulfilling love relationship is something that could really elevate our lives. If you already are in a committed relationship, I think this topic will still resonate with you as well, because as I go through four tools for finding true love, these are ones that you can continue to work on in your own current relationship to deepen your connection. Everything is so interconnected, which is why we have our Four Cornerstones of True Beauty - food, body, emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. Love, health, abundance, and our energy, it's all frequency and one thing.  I'm so excited to share my love with you. To share that excitement, energy, joyfulness, and what's possible. I want to share the wisdom I've been able to glean through my experiences as well as some research that will hopefully be useful to you in your life.

Transitioning into Fall Energy

Believe it or not, Beauties, fall is definitely here as of just a few days ago when we experienced the autumn equinox. You probably have felt a little bit of a transition in your body, in your environment. No matter where you happen to be living, there's definitely bigger things happening in the collective that affect how we feel, how our energy levels are, what we're drawn to be eating and our practices. Today we're going to get into that on our show and am really excited to hear your questions.

How to Easefully Increase Spirituality into Your Life

Spirituality is a journey towards understanding and connecting to your true self more. It’s about increasing the love in your life, which is the truth and core essence of who we are. When we feel deeply connected with ourselves, we vibrate on a whole different level. We are more creative. We have more vitality, joy and peace. On a practical physical level, we have better digestion. There is less stress we hold on to. We feel more harmony in our lives. It's an amazing gift to give yourself that you cannot get from just eating well or from exercising. When I got into this whole part of spiritual growth, my whole life opened up and I became more satisfied and joyful. The same way that we approach food with recipes and plans and shopping lists, I think that there are ways to approach spirituality in a straightforward and organized way. It's not just this vague concept but a part of our life that is something we want to do with intention. This is what we're going to get into that today, and I'm so excited to hear all your questions.

Keeping Healthy Sex and Intimacy Alive in Your Relationship

Sex, intimacy, touch, sensuality and your connection with your chosen partner is a very important part of wellness. If you are single, I still think this topic applies to you, because you could have this information in mind when thinking about getting into a relationship and just being aware. Being able to create this really nourishing, healthy part of your life. Sexual energy and intimacy is very, very powerful and potentially very healing. There are many different ways to have a relationship. Whatever iteration it is for you, if you have chosen a long term relationship or marriage, or, even something shorter, this idea of sharing with your partner in a really deep way can really cement you together and bring you close together. It can bring about great growth. There is something very sexual and very secret about this energy and it's something that we definitely want to honor and to keep alive.  There's amazing research, however, I also want to go through it from our Four Cornerstone perspective of food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth, because there are many different aspects to this, so we will go through all four.

Creating Space for What You Love

I love focusing on what you love, what you're passionate about and really creating your life around that because otherwise we all get so busy and life gets chaotic and we try to pack all this other stuff in. We go through our normal routine, our normal schedule, day in and day out and then we may say, "Oh, what happened last week? Or what happened last month? And I didn't even get to sit down and write or paint or work on this project or exercise or try out this new recipe. What's going on?" And then life starts to feel stressful and crowded. We want to be conscious because otherwise, if we don't consciously create what we spend our time on, then life will tell us. We'll get so busy and end up saying yes to other people's schedules and what they want. And then again, time can go on. So it's really important to highlight this topic, to really think about what we are, what we want, what we want to create, and to put the space and the love and the effort into those endeavors.

Boosting Your Mental and Emotional Well-Being

I think that it's been a really challenging past few months and year in general for a lot of us, just because so much has gone on and our lives have shifted so much with COVID. There are a lot of unknowns, and there's just a lot of different stress out there. More than ever, we really need to tune into our feelings, our emotions, and our mental health. It's easy to get caught up and just focus on what we're eating and how we've shifted our exercise routines because of the virus, that we're in quarantine, and we're home a lot more. However, the other side of that is really taking care of the inner space. This whole part of wellness, our emotions, our mind and how we feel, which has a really big effect on our bodies and on our hormones. It also has an effect on our fertility, our digestion, our peace and our joy and just all these different parts of our lives. I think just the simple awareness and talking about it right now is part of boosting it. If we don't acknowledge that this is such an important part of self-care and of taking care of ourselves, then we don't really get to move forward and make a difference in our lives. And we all deserve that.

Ways to Stop Focusing on Numbers

I have a lot of strong opinions about numbers. I think that numbers are really limiting and are very finite and we of course are infinite beings. We have so much potential and energy. We have so much power to enact change and to grow and to rejuvenate and to do all sorts of things. Today, we'll get into why I feel numbers can be very limiting. I will also share the ways that you can go about things without numbers and achieve, in my opinion, far better results in terms of your weight, how you feel and what you're trying to create in the world.

I will also share the ways that you can go about things without numbers and achieve, in my opinion, far better results in terms of your weight, how you feel and what you're trying to create in the world.

How to Pull Yourself Out of a Rut

I wanted to take you through my three step process for helping you pull yourself out of a rut, out of a down period or just feeling really off. We want to discuss this and support each other because it's something that I think is pretty universal.  This topic is inspired by Heather, who I believe is from Virginia Beach. She is a beautiful member of our community that submitted a question last week for our Q&A podcast. So I was really inspired by her question where she described just feeling lost and unsure and confused.  I send you lots of love, Heather. Thank you for inspiring today, and I hope you listen to this one as well.

Setting Healthy Boundaries

Setting healthy boundaries is a big thing with the way that you work with your colleagues and the way that you have relationships with family members and relatives. There's a lot of ways that boundaries apply. I will say for myself, setting healthy boundaries hasn't been an easy thing. Sometimes it seems simple to just say what you mean, however, I think for me and a lot of people, confrontation can be really hard. It's like standing up for yourself and really laying it out. Sometimes it involves difficult, upfront conversations, and that's not always easy. I think certain things are easier for different people. But I know that when boundaries are clear and defined, it takes a lot of stress out.

Increase Your Energy Easily, Without a Focus on Food

The one topic that I constantly hear from, or the one thing that everybody wants, whether they're a man or woman, is energy. And I think that the first place for almost all of us to go to and to think about is what we're eating, of course, which is our first Solluna cornerstone.  It's obvious that we start there because we have to eat every day and we have to pick up food. We have to put it into our body. And that's just part of one of our daily functionings that we can't get past as human beings. However, there are so many other ways to both elevate our energy and also deplete our energy. We are going to leave the food one to the side, and we're going to talk about what we can do with our body, our emotions and with the spiritual part of our lives, to really bring in energy. To call in energy, to preserve our energy and to elevate it.

Getting Unstuck

Our topic today is a really interesting topic because we can get stuck in any of the cornerstones, which are food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. We can feel stuck in our bodies. We can feel stagnant in our work or our progress to feel lighter and happier and more peaceful. We can feel stuck in our relationships. I don't think there's any single one of us that don't feel stuck from time to time, including myself, and I want to talk about some of the practices and tools that I personally use to get through that stuckness and get to the other side.

Managing Heightened Emotions

Stressed out??? I can relate! We can all let our emotions build up and then bubble out of us when we're not expecting it. And of course, this affects our relationships. This affects our stress hormones. This accelerates aging. This can affect our sleep and just our overall quality of well-being and feeling good in our lives. Emotions can hijack us and keep us from living our best life. We definitely want to talk about this today and give you some tools and tips and strategies for dealing with out of control emotions, which especially for us ladies, can feel that they are swinging out of control, particularly around our moon cycle time. Be sure to tune in Beauties and share the link so we can spread the love and support!

Finding Your Soulmate and Making it Work in the Real World, with my Husband Jon

I am very excited to have my husband Jon as our podcast guest this week. We're going to be talking about relationships and all aspects of practical living. What we do from a food standpoint and connection standpoint when implementing our Four Cornerstones of True Beauty. The Four Cornerstones being, food, body (we'll talk about sex a little bit), emotional well-being and spiritual growth and how we do it in our life. I think it's nice to share more about my life. We talk about some of these concepts in an abstract way, however, when we can talk about it in a real world way I think it's really great. We get a lot of questions about relationships and how to navigate that. It's one thing when we're on our own wellness journeys, but it's a very different thing when you live with someone and share a home and a kitchen.

We are deeply interwoven in our emotions and our spirit. We will dig in today to offer some helpful ways to support ongoing detoxing in all areas of your life.

Best Of: Balancing Our Emotions

Hey, Beauties. Welcome back to our Thursday Q&A podcast where our topic is Best Of: Balancing Our Emotions. I am so excited to share about this topic with you guys because back in 2015, I think around that year was when we started the podcast, and since then, emotional wellbeing has become such a big part of our philosophy. It was a big part of my latest book, Recipes for Your Perfectly Imperfect Life. It's one of our Four Cornerstones, which are food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth, and the more I've gone along in my wellness journey and as a wellness expert and teacher, I realize more and more how much our mental health and our emotional side does affect our bodies, our health, our hormones, our energy, so on and so forth, so we really do need to take this holistic approach.

Staying Positive During Transitions in Life

Transitions are part of life. We know that life is dynamic, but it doesn't mean that they're always easy. Even for so-called good, happy transitions or not so happy ones. I know when I moved into our new house a few months ago, it was exciting to find a house, but it was so stressful. The move, the packing, the details, moving during my first trimester. There was a lot there. I’m also transitioning into having a second child and really how that impacts the dynamic of the family and Bubby, who is so used to having my full attention for these years and is now having a sibling. It's a lot. Transitions have a lot of charged energy in them. There's practices and ways to train ourselves emotionally and physically to be okay with change, to let go of control more. We thought this was a great topic today. We've certainly been getting a lot of questions about it and I’m excited to dive in.

Essential Nutrients to Feel Good

As you Beauties know, the name of our podcast is the Feel Good podcast, so we're really about feeling good, connecting to our deepest self, which is what we define as true beauty. Letting this resonate through our lives, our relationships, the way we take care of our bodies, the way we eat, our emotional and mental health, and of course our spiritual growth. It's not just to look good, but to feel good. That is the essence of true beauty. When we feel connected to ourselves, we feel more confident and are more magnetic. We can start to pull more in and attract more in, than feeling like we're pushing and pulling and struggling all the time. When we start to look at wellness through that lens, we can start to really feel good, and when we feel good we resonate that and we do become more truly beautiful. Today we'll be focusing more on our food cornerstone and essential nutrients that will help us stay on track with our holistic lifestyle.

Stress Eating 101

I know a lot of us are struggling with being home, having the fridge right there, stress eating, snacking all day. There's a constant stream of jokes and memes all over the internet about it. And today I want to give some of my tools, tips and strategies to support you in this. It's hard enough being home all day every day, but it's a whole other level if we start to feel heavy and gross and bloated. We want to manage our eating right now. We want to make sure we're nurturing our body and not bingeing, which can be a very easy pattern to get into.

Letting Go

Our topic today is letting go, which is a huge theme for all of us right now. With everything going on in the world, from our plans, expectations and the way life was prior to all of this happening over the last few months. It's also our theme this month in the Solluna Circle, letting go for May, and that is our online tribal community program which you can check out on mysolluna.com. If you don't know about it, it could be a really wonderful support to you right now. Letting go is such a healing way to proceed. It's been a big theme in my life. I will say for the last three years since I lost my mom, my life really started to shift. And there's a lot of healing and growth that comes from letting go. We realize how strong and resilient we really are from the inside out.

Spring Cleaning - Digestive Cleansing

We are a couple of weeks into spring, so I thought this is the perfect time to talk about spring cleaning. Not for your house but for your Body, which is our Second Cornerstone of Solluna. I’m excited to be diving into this topic, because it’s the time of year when we start thinking about getting in shape for swimsuit season, maybe shedding a couple of excess pounds, or just resetting our bodies after eating more heavily during the winter months. Regardless of our goals, spring cleaning for our bodies is rooted in digestive cleansing. So in this podcast we focus on how to best support and cleanse our digestive systems - hitting that reset button just in time for spring!

What To Do When Anxiety Hits

What do you do when anxiety hits? We have had a lot of questions from you during this challenging, unprecedented time, where we have more time to be alone with our thoughts and our feelings. We have way fewer distractions. We may feel overwhelmed by the news and have uncertainty. There's a lot of triggers, a lot of fear, a lot of things coming up. I really feel that for all of us. This is why I want to talk about some tangible tools and strategies we can do when the anxiety does come, so you don't feel like a wave just knocked you over. We also want you to start to sleep better at night so that we can turn this into a time of strengthening ourselves. We can come out on the other side of this perhaps even stronger, and that we've learned more about ourselves. You're not alone Beauties so be sure to tune in and share this episode with your friends and family and start feeling good today!

How To Feel Good Being With Yourself

Our topic today is very much related to what's going on for all of us right now, which is How To Feel Good Being With Yourself. This is an unprecedented time where we’re all home. Sheltering at home and spending more time with ourselves more than ever. I think that there's a lot of blessings that come with that. It can be very confrontational. There is a lot of talk around this topic and it's great to share. I love to hear these timely topics come up so we can support each other. It's certainly not an easy time in many ways. However, I think that we can focus and shift on some positives here and hopefully come out on the other side stronger and more connected to ourselves, to our bodies, to our true beauty, to our voice and our authenticity.

Top Foods For Great Skin

We have been talking about skin for years. I think it stemmed from me having so many skin issues myself, having really bad acne and a lot of patchiness, rosacea. I was feeling like I was looking very haggard and aging very quickly back in my early twenties. I started to learn on this path, that skin is our largest organ. It very much does reflect our inner health. Not only how we eat and take care of our body, but our emotional and mental health and well-being and our spirituality. All of which are part of our four Solluna Cornerstones, our connection to ourselves. It's really interesting how we can really start to regenerate our skin in super-powerful ways. I'm going to tell you some of my top secrets today that I've been using myself for years. I'm excited to share with you about this topic because we all want to have great skin, and it's one of the first things people notice about us.
